Claudio Schifano, a contemporary artist of informal painting, was born in Siracusa, Italy, on 30 November 1953. The artist is the younger brother of Luciano Schifano, who created the stained glass windows in the cathedral of Santa Croce, in Florence, Italy, and also the squad of the Palio di Siena. He is also a cousin Mario Schifano (died 1998), who was noted as a protagonist of Italian "Pop Art". As a self-taught painter in the contemparary art field, Schifano strives to move away from naturalism and the external in his work, preferring to "look deep" within himself seeking "deep emotions". Working in oilbar, Schifano's works are characterized by the intense use of color, imaginative shapes and symbolism. Schifano has been exhibiting his first works since 1973 and continues to participate in exhibitions and art events. ==Art exhibitions== *(Roberta Smedili Association for l'UNICEF - UNICEF Arte© ) *(Giornale di Siracusa ) *(NEWS ART & CULTURE ) *(GIGARTE Archives ) *(Cultural Association ) *(ARTE News ) *(Institute G.
